4-Year-Old Boards a Freezing and Lonely Bus at 3 A.M. to Purchase a Slushie

A heartwarming story has emerged out of Philadelphia about a bus driver, Harlan Jenifer, who came to the rescue of a four-year-old girl in the middle of the night. Annabelle, who had snuck out of her family’s house in her pajamas and boots, had boarded the bus alone at around 3 a.m. to buy a Slushie.

Harlan was shocked when he saw Annabelle, who was shivering and completely soaked, climb aboard. He said, “Got to be kidding me! At this time, at 3 o’clock in the morning… She’s a little little thing.”

Harlan called the police to ensure Annabelle was safe and stopped his route for over 20 minutes while the passengers made small talk with her. Annabelle was in good spirits and seemed to know where she was going, but was eventually taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital by the police, where she was reunited with her mother, Jaclyn Mager.

Following an inspection of the residence, authorities stated that no charges would be made against Annabelle’s parents. They had modified their door locks to ensure it would be her last solo outing.
