The Palmen Barnfind Collection is one of the largest and most exciting discoveries in recent years for classic car enthusiasts and collectors.
Featuring over 230 classic cars from marques worldwide, including Italy, France, Germany, the UK, and America, the collection is expected to fetch millions of euros when it goes up for auction in the Netherlands on May 19.
The collection, which belonged to Dutch businessman Ad Palmen, was discovered in warehouses and an abandoned church in Holland, where Palmen had been storing the cars for over 40 years.
Palmen had started collecting classic cars in the mid-1960s, and his refined taste and discerning eye for rare and valuable vehicles is evident in the collection.
Many of the classic cars, including Maseratis, Jaguars, Aston Martins, BMWs, and Facel Vegas, are in pristine condition despite their decades-long slumber.
While the vehicles are undoubtedly dusty and in need of some restoration work, they are in good overall condition, having been maintained by Palmen himself, who started the engines regularly.
Palmen’s reportedly ailing health made it impossible for him to maintain the collection, and he recently sold it to Gallery Aaldering, a motor vehicle dealer run by Nico and Nick Aaldering, for an undisclosed amount.
The auction will be organized by Gallery Aaldering and Classic Car Auctions, and the cars will be available for viewing on May 27, 28, and 29. The auction will close in three waves, on June 5, 6, and 7.
The Palmen Barnfind Collection is a unique opportunity for car enthusiasts and collectors worldwide to expand their collection with some of the rarest and most sought-after classic cars in the world.
Despite being discovered in warehouses and an abandoned church, the collection is in surprisingly good condition and a testament to Palmen’s passion for classic cars. The auction is expected to attract many collectors worldwide, and with good reason: the Palmen Barnfind Collection is a remarkable discovery that is sure to go down in automotive history.
